Everything was serious from the start. I tried to avoid saying the one thing that the week would hurt to be without: my iPod Charlie. But in the end I knew that if I was going to participate, I was going to do it to the best of my capabilities and not cheat.
Charlie is one of my best friends. Silly right? An inanimate piece of technology is considered a friend. But he's there in the morning to wake me up and to play me funny songs on the bus when I'm in a bad mood. On average, I'd say I listen to music on my iPod....two plus 18...divide by four carry the six... a lot!
So far...day one isn’t that bad. Had to avoid the urge to press play on my stereo. Walking around singing random songs that enter my thoughts (It’s not cheating) going about my day is fine by me. Maybe this won’t be too bad.
But I did miss a few things during the weekend. I can’t believe I didn’t listen to The Cure. Though I didn’t not mess with my iPod, I didn’t open up my iTunes account to upload a CD. I needed to put it away and couldn’t do so until I completed my uploading task. Is this cheating? I’m not sure but I did not press play!
What I had in my head today:
- “Cut Here” by The Cure but the Alkaline Trio cover
- Electric Valentine “Two of Heart” cover
- Wreckless Eric “Whole Wide World”
- That song in the Sword and the Stone, the one when they are fish.
