No Caffeine: Wrap up

The week went pretty well. Worse than I expected, but I didn’t completely fall apart without my trusty caffeine fix.

I did have a minor slip up, but for the most part, I’m proud of myself because the urge to go out and buy a coffee was overwhelming, especially when I would get home and have time to think about things.

This week did prove that I have a major chemical dependence, and that I do rely on caffeine way more than I should. I guess I could cut down on my intake, but the addict in me is adamant that I keep consuming. I don’t mind complying with that.

Surprisingly, though, when 8 p.m. Friday night rolled around, I didn’t go berserk and buy out the entire soda section at the CVS. I had a Diet Coke and after that I was content (and hyper) enough to enjoy the rest of the night.

The rest of the weekend was spent fully awake, an experience I hadn’t had for the past 5 days.

It was dampened by the fact that I got sick (probably karma for slipping up that one time), but at least I can keep my head up while I blow my nose.

This experiment was interesting and pretty enjoyable, especially because we did it as a team. I think that helped me get through the week, knowing that everyone else had to give up something too. It’s definitely been a learning experience, and I’m glad I participated.
