Day three was definitely a good day. I didn’t have school and after listening to The Postal Service’s “Sleeping In” the night before, I made sure I did just that.
So I slept in till about 10 a.m. and I woke up feeling brand new; my body and mind finally felt up to speed for once. But this was the problem, because feeling the way I did, I was in the mood to go all out on “Red Dead Redemption.” I could have easily just said, “Well I can just play for a bit and no one would know that I did, no harm in that.” Even if that did happen, my Playstation 3 isn’t at my house so there was no use in lying for me anyways.
Since I was up to par with my homework and house chores, I needed to do something fun, something that I haven’t done in a while, and it was my day off so why the heck not? I called a few of my friends and invited them over for a ping-pong tournament. Fortunately they were all excited about the invite and came over before I could shower.
So there we were competing on the green table with a three-star ping-pong ball and top notch paddles. Luckily I have friends who are good so it was a tough competition and we kept it interesting.
During the rest of the day, I found myself doing productive activities. I gave my dog a bath, washed some clothes, and I finished off my day with a run around the city and some calisthenics. I even managed to iron my clothes for the next day.
So far I’ve realized that because I don’t have my Playstation 3 at home, it just motivates me to do other things that I consider entertaining, and that’s good. I feel comfortable knowing that video games aren’t the only thing I resort to when it comes to having nothing to do.
