I zipped up the duffle bag that was holding my beloved Playstation 3. If it had eyes and it could talk, it would probably look at me and tell me as I was closing the bag, “Come on man, you don’t have to do this.”
And if it said that, I would respond by saying, “Don’t worry about it, you’re just going to get connected to another television and someone is going to play you for hours, doesn’t that sound like fun?”
Of course, if my Playstation 3 is an optimist then it would most definitely think that was fun. So I zipped up the bag and carried it to my car and placed it safely in the shaded passenger seat, away from the blistering sun.
I drove up to my friend’s house to hand him the holy grail of video gaming. Like the true gamer he is, he accepted it with open arms and got straight to connecting it in his bedroom. As I expected, “Red Dead Redemption” would be the first game for him to play, and it was at that moment that it was time for me to leave.
Luckily I had homework to finish, so with or without my Playstation 3, I usually finish that before anything else. I finished my homework and I got up to walk to the living room, thinking that I was about to play some video games, then I had that moment where I thought “Wow I guess it is bad.”
My friend gives me a call and suggests a run around Grand Terrace. Despite him having my game system, I still felt the inclination to run, so we ran. For now, my mental capacity to understand that there are other things to do besides video games is working well. For now.
